An everything shower can be as simple as doing your familiar hair, body and after-shower steps in one planned routine. Use this guide to choose your essentials, put the steps in a useful order and keep extras optional.
What is an everything shower?
An everything shower is a name for a more complete personal-care routine that brings together the steps you want to do in one session. It might include washing your hair, conditioning, cleansing and after-shower care. There is no required number of products or fixed duration.
For a beginner, start with the steps you already know and enjoy. The routine can happen partly before and after the water runs, so it does not have to mean a much longer shower.
Everything shower essentials: a short checklist
- Your usual shampoo and conditioner, if this is a hair-wash day.
- The body cleanser you already use.
- A clean towel and comfortable clothes.
- Your usual after-shower care, if you want it.
- Any optional item you already know how to use, following its own instructions.
You do not need to buy a matching set. Put what you will use within reach and leave the floor clear before starting.
Step 1: Prepare the space and pick your steps
Decide what belongs in today's routine. You may want a full hair wash and a comfortable finish; another day may call for only your normal cleanse with one extra detail. Set out the towel and products before turning on the water.
If you like music, choose a short playlist beforehand. Keep phones and electrical equipment outside wet areas unless their manufacturer explicitly permits that use.
Step 2: Wash your hair if it is part of today's plan
Use your familiar shampoo as directed. If you are not washing your hair, skip this step instead of adding it just because the routine has an elaborate name. An everything shower should fit what you need today.
Step 3: Condition according to the product directions
If you use conditioner or a hair treatment, follow its instructions for amount, placement and timing. Do not assume that using more or leaving it on longer creates a better result. Rinse as directed and keep the routine manageable.
Step 4: Use your usual body cleanser
Keep this step familiar. Use the body wash or cleanser you normally choose and rinse as its label directs. Check that hair products have also been rinsed away before finishing.
If exfoliation, shaving or another personal-care step is already part of your routine, it can remain optional. Follow that product's directions instead of combining multiple unfamiliar products just to make the shower feel complete.
Step 5: Add one experience you enjoy
This could be quiet, a favorite song or a fragrance product designed for its setting. For a visual element, SUMEO creates floating shower bubbles with a Bubble Maker and diluted Bubble Serum. A separate Scent Pod provides optional fragrance.
Prepare the Maker while dry, position it away from direct spray and use the instructed Serum dilution. Floating bubbles complement the shower experience; they do not replace body wash, shampoo or conditioner. See the mixing and setup guide before trying them.
If scent is your main interest, our shower fragrance comparison explains steamers, bathroom diffusers and scented bubbles.
Step 6: Finish comfortably and put things away
Turn off the water, dry off and use your usual after-shower care if desired. A towel and clean clothes ready beforehand make this part easier. Rinse residue from the shower area and clean accessories according to their instructions.
A routine that is easy to tidy up is easier to repeat. Leave out any extra step that makes the experience feel like a chore.
A beginner's everything shower routine
Start with this sequence: prepare your towel and products, wash and condition your hair if needed, cleanse your body, rinse, then dry off and finish. Add one optional sensory detail only if you want it. You can expand the routine later without buying everything at once.
How often should you do an everything shower?
There is no fixed calendar for this kind of routine. Plan it around the personal-care steps you already use and the time you have. Keep a shorter everyday version for busy days, and use the fuller version when it is enjoyable and practical.
